Tour highlight: Diocletian's palace
This tour takes you for a walk in the Old Town of Split (UNESCO's World Heritage Site) for about 1 hour. Firstly, we will visit the Palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian of the 4th century (the oldest part of the town). We will pass by the Basements of the Palace or the Substructures (external visit), the main square Peristil, the Palace fortifications with Golden, Silver, Iron and Bronze gates, the Mausoleum / St. Domnius's Cathedral (external visit), Jupiter's temple / Baptistery (external visit), medieval houses of noble families, a small former Jewish ghetto with a synagogue that is still active...

The second part of the tour takes us to the medieval neighborhood built outside the Palace and, there, we will explore some famous squares: Pjaca (People's square) and Fruit square, and learn about the socio-political lifestyle under Venetian, French, Austrian-Hungarian and Yugoslavian rule. By the end of this tour, you'll have a better understanding of the rich history, local lifestyle and little peculiarities that make Split so special.
