Aspalathos is the name of the Greek settlement that was once situated at the same location where the town of Split is situated today. It is from that word that the name of the town of Split stems from and it is, in fact, the name of a flower - Spanish broom! In Dalmatia, it is said that in May when this flower is in bloom, its scent influences people because it has... aphrodisiac qualities!

Do you want to know what fjaka is? What kind of a game is picigin and why only the locals from Split have ever won its World Championships? Or what kind of a local dish is pašticada and where the best one is served? Join me for a private walking tour in Split and you will find out!
